We are about to transition into a new year. At this time of the year, many are considering making changes in their lives, families, business, etc. Whatever dream we want to pursue in 2022 must correspond with our actions. Before we attempt to make changes in our lives, our movement towards that change must be settled in our hearts.
Our intent must link to our action. Purpose to bring into alignment your attitudes, emotions, behavior, etc. with your values. Make a daily commitment to take specific steps, and make your to-do list. Making changes is a process. It begins with a decision followed by required action to make those desired changes. You can only take charge of your future if you enhance your self-awareness. Learning to master yourself is a journey, a lifelong process, and the foundation for achieving your goals. Every new year is an opportunity to set new goals to achieve. Every resolution or goal you choose, you must become a better person at the end of it all.
Many new year resolutions fail because they are not clearly defined. For a goal to be clearly defined, it must have a personal meaning for you, and it must be purpose-based. Ask yourself, "what is my motivation?" "Why do I want to pursue this goal?" You have to align your goals with your values to help you stay focused and to enable you to begin with what is important to you. Even though you want result, your values help you know why you want those results. Your values help you make the right decision in pursuing your goal because you are working in line with your belief. What you believe helps gives you direction.
Identify and reflect on what you need to work on that does not align with your goals and values. Identify your goals and break them down into small steps. Establish SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-bound). You have to resolve that you will pursue your goals in alignment with your values because they help you make the right decision and see where you are going and how you will get there.
I wish you a happy and prosperous new year.
